Clear and Centered.

Healing starts with being seen.

postpartum support groups for new parents

At Motherbound, our groups are more than a place to talk, they are a space to be seen.

We offer small, therapist-led support groups for new parents in the postpartum period, with sessions tailored to mothers, fathers, and caregivers navigating the first year after birth.

Our programs are grounded in clinical expertise and guided by warmth, community, and shared experience.

Each 6-week series is designed to meet you where you are—emotionally, mentally, and relationally. We cover essential topics like identity shifts, emotional regulation, communication with partners, bonding with baby, and managing the invisible load of caregiving. But we also hold space for what’s often unspoken: the loneliness, the rage, the joy, the grief, the tenderness.

Our approach blends evidence-informed support with the healing power of connection. Group sizes are intentionally small to foster intimacy, trust, and depth. Participants leave each session not only with tools and insights, but with a felt sense of belonging.

Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, unseen, or simply longing for a space to share and reflect—Motherbound groups are here to hold you, exactly as you are.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Motherbound groups are designed for new and expecting parents navigating the emotional, relational, and identity shifts of early parenthood. We offer specialized tracks for mothers, fathers, and grandmothers in the first year postpartum. Whether you're feeling isolated, overwhelmed, or simply craving meaningful connection, our groups are here to support you.

  • Each group session is 75–90 minutes and facilitated by a licensed clinical social worker. Sessions include guided discussion, emotional check-ins, reflective exercises, and shared storytelling. Topics range from identity changes and mental load to partner dynamics and bonding with your baby. The vibe is warm, confidential, and non-judgmental—come as you are.

  • Not at all. While many participants are navigating postpartum anxiety, depression, or identity shifts, others simply want connection and emotional support. Our groups are preventative, relational, and therapeutic spaces—not just for those in distress, but for anyone seeking grounded community.

  • We keep our groups intentionally small—typically 8 to 10 participants—to create safety, depth, and intimacy. This ensures every voice has space and every story is held with care.

  • We offer primarily virtual groups (via Zoom) and in-person cohorts the last session of the group at a community partner location. You’ll be able to choose your format during registration. Our virtual circles are designed to feel just as intimate and connected as in-person gatherings.

  • Our standard 6-week group series is $300. We offer a flexible payment plan (two payments of $150) and are happy to discuss further accessibility options if cost is a barrier. We believe everyone deserves support.

  • While our groups are therapist-facilitated and grounded in clinical care, they are not considered formal psychotherapy and are not eligible for insurance reimbursement. However, they offer emotional tools, validation, and community in a way that complements individual therapy beautifully.

  • We generally encourage individual enrollment to preserve group safety and openness. However, we offer parallel groups for mothers and fathers, and some sessions may include optional joint experiences or reunions post-series.

  • We understand life happens. While we encourage full attendance for continuity, we offer summary notes and optional reflection prompts for any missed sessions. Refunds are not provided for individual missed weeks.

  • Cancellations made 48+ hours before the first session receive a full refund. If you cancel within 48 hours, we may offer a refund if your spot is filled. Full details can be found in our Cancellation Policy.

  • Yes. Motherbound is committed to racial, cultural, and gender inclusivity. We welcome parents of all identities and family structures, and strive to hold space that is affirming, trauma-informed, and nonjudgmental.

  • You can view current offerings and sign up directly through our registration page. Groups fill quickly, so we recommend joining our waitlist if your preferred cohort is full.
